The Colombian paramilitary group calling itself Autodefensas Conquistadores de la Sierra-ACSN issued another statement this Saturday to Colombian President Gustavo Petro and Nicolás Maduro, asking the Colombian president to cooperate so that the paramilitaries can pass on information to Venezuelans who have direct knowledge of the alleged plans to “destabilize Venezuela” with 22 days left until the presidential election.

He believes that “this is a very important event for our two countries, which share a border and do not interfere in the two territories designed by their neighbors.”
To this end, he asked Petro to “take the relevant measures so that the Venezuelan authorities can have a direct dialogue with our organization, provide them with information, and thus initiate the corresponding judicial procedures.”
Likewise, he said they took note of Maduro’s statement: “We have a moral obligation to deliver it to him to achieve the ends he deems necessary.”
“This peaceful action is born out of respect for the electoral process and democracy in Venezuela in order to establish a true peace and stop the violence for the benefit of the people we protect and our neighbors, who also have the right to self-determination,” he claimed.
Maduro demands investigation into video of paramilitaries accusing opposition of sabotaging plans
On Friday, Maduro asked the prosecutor’s office to investigate a video released by Colombian paramilitary group the Self-Defense of the Conquerors of Nevada (ACSN) in which he claimed that Venezuelan “far-right groups” had contacted them to “destroy” the government.
“We have many BroadCast Unitedligence sources (…) who have obtained this information and I openly ask the Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saab, that within the framework of his functions he undertook this investigation (…) because it is very serious,” the president said on his radio program “Suddenly”.
ACSN posted a video on social networks
“Interlocutors made a variety of demands, including attacks on Venezuela’s electrical infrastructure, actions against President and candidate Nicolás Maduro, infiltrating protests and creating chaos in the streets to prevent his re-election,” they noted.
The paramilitary group said its organization does not interfere in the internal affairs of other countries and would therefore contact Venezuelan diplomatic authorities “to disclose the details of the information disclosed.”
Maduro said they would wait, while asking that the message be conveyed in the news so that citizens know they are “fighting for the right to peace.”
“I assure you, no one will embarrass us in Venezuela,” he added.
