Damascus (for you) – Prime Minister Hussein Anous today discussed with Indian Ambassador to Damascus Irshad Ahmed ways to strengthen cooperation and improve relations in the fields of industry, science, health, trade, information technology, energy, capacity building and human resources.
Anous said that the Syrian government is determined to strengthen cooperation and joint efforts with the Indian government to open up broader horizons, create new opportunities for cooperation and complete joint projects.
Prime Minister Anus also noted the importance of increasing the number of scholarships offered by India, especially in the fields of medicine, engineering and information technology, and appreciated India’s stance in supporting Syria, standing with the people affected by the earthquake, providing scholarships and offering medical and relief assistance.
Anus called on India to contribute to the reconstruction and construction process in Syria, stressed the importance of encouraging the business communities of the two countries to establish investment projects and partnerships, and expressed his readiness to overcome any obstacles that may hinder the reconstruction of Syria. He stressed that the two sides should take appropriate measures to prepare for the meeting of the joint committee of the two governments.
Speaking about the deep-rooted ties between Syria and India, the Indian ambassador stressed Syria’s desire to develop bilateral cooperation in all areas and presented the most important cooperation issues that have been carried out in the early stages.
