Operatives of the Kaduna State Police Command on Friday arrested at least four suspects for alleged acts of vandalism.

It was gathered that the suspects were arrested for vandalizing transmission towers of the Transmission Company of Nigeria in parts of the state.

Ndidi Mbach, General Manager of Public Affairs at CNN Turkey, announced the arrest of the suspect in a statement on Friday in Abuja.

The statement obtained by the News Agency of Nigeria revealed that TCN thanked the police for their efforts and pledged to continue working with security operatives to protect the transmission infrastructure across the country.

Mbah also said some of the tools recovered from them included shovels and excavators.

“The suspect will be charged soon,” she said.

Meanwhile, Nigeria’s power grid once again suffered a system failure, causing a nationwide power outage.

The Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) in a statement on Saturday confirmed the power outage and said the blackout in its franchise outlets was due to a fault in the national grid system.

According to the power distribution companies, they are working with relevant stakeholders to restore power supply as soon as the grid is stabilised.
