Arnold Andre: “I’m going to win today”
Arnaud Dele rode very well in his first Tour and felt “fantastic”. After taking some honours, he was hoping for a win today. “Today’s ride was like a classic. We were looking forward to it. It was a technical and hard ride, but normally I should be able to do it with the form I have. Today we put our full focus and tried to go for the win.”
He saw rival Mads Pedersen disappear, but Dely thought it was a shame for the Dane in particular. “Calls and failures are always bad news and unfortunately it’s part of cycling. I wish Mads a good recovery.”
Does he have a lucky charm on his bike? “I didn’t have anything special on today, but everyone in my family was there. I’ll think of them during the ride, and I’ll give it my all.”
