A 39-year-old man from Rabat, Gozo, is in a critical condition in hospital after nearly drowning yesterday.
Police said the man had difficulty swimming in the sea near Daħlet Qorrot. Bystanders brought him to shore and gave him first aid. They called the police around 5:30pm.
Police and medical teams attended the scene and the man was taken by ambulance to Gozo General Hospital. His condition was later classified as serious.
Duty magistrate Simone Grech has assigned officers to investigate the incident and police are also investigating.
