South Sound Road after Hurricane Beryl (from social media)

(CNS): As police began post-hurricane patrols Thursday afternoon, officers reported that a section of South Sound Road, starting at the intersection with Old Crewe Road, is currently unsafe for drivers to travel. The RCIPS report said that section of the road will be closed until further notice due to severe damage and excessive debris. While other roads were blocked by fallen trees and utility lines, many have now been cleared by other emergency services and most roads are now safe for drivers.

The RCIPS thanks the public for their cooperation during the hurricane and encourages everyone to stay safe and use the roads with caution during the ongoing severe weather.
