Different documents will be used in presidential and congressional elections
The ballot papers for the elections for the President of the Republic and for deputies will have two different colors, white and khaki.
The National Election Commission (NEC) announced via social media that the presidential ballot paper will be white and the parliamentary ballot paper will be khaki.
In July 2024, elections for the President of the Republic and the House of Representatives will be held on the same day and in the same voting room, and the NEC will show the voting process.
During the voting process, voters will arrive at the polling station and be met by a polling station coordinator who will ensure that voters meet the requirements, including proof of identity, and give priority to vulnerable groups.
The second step is to check if the people coming to vote are on the voting list and if they are found eligible, they are given a white paper to vote for the President of the Republic.
As soon as he receives the paper, he goes to the first booth, votes with his thumb or marks it with a pen, then leaves the booth and puts the selected paper into a box with a white lid, which is used to hold the documents of the President of the Republic.

After you vote for the President, you will again be given a khaki paper for voting for members, go to the second round and vote for the House of Representatives by thumb or pen.
After the voting is over, voters will leave the polling station with their ballots for the MPs in a black-lidded box, and the MPs’ ballots will be placed in the box.
After casting their ballots for president and representatives, voters will apply designated ink to their fingers before leaving the voting booth.
In the elections for the President of the Republic and the House of Representatives, which will be held in July 2024, 2,591 polling stations in and outside Rwanda will be used.
