‘Health Professions’ discusses leadership challenges in women’s health practice

The Saudi Council of Health Professionals held a seminar titled “Empowering Women – Challenges and Solutions” today at the Council’s headquarters in Riyadh to identify the challenges and barriers for female health practitioners to obtain leadership roles, with a number of women in attendance. The seminar discussed multiple topics related to women’s leadership: the first topic discussed “Challenges facing women”, the second one discussed “Policies”, the third one discussed “Opportunities for Change” and the fourth one covered “Your Personal Leadership Journey”.

Notably, the seminar was organized in the wake of the Saudi Council of Health Professions’ Women’s Empowerment Program, which aims to support the development of regulatory legislation related to women in the labor market, increase awareness of their rights, their participation in decision-making, enhance their leadership and communication skills, provide education and development programs to improve the working environment for women, and encourage… participation in social and cultural activities.
