(CNS): Cayman Airways began returning its flights from overseas Thursday afternoon as the warning for Hurricane Beryl was lifted and Owen Roberts International Airport reopened. The national carrier has added a special flight from Miami to Grand Cayman on Friday, July 5, to bring back residents evacuated due to the storm. Flight KX3103 departed Miami International Airport at 9:30 a.m. and arrived in Grand Cayman at 10:00 a.m. Inbound flights from New York, Los Angeles and Miami scheduled for Thursday, July 4 will arrive delayed, and affected passengers have been notified directly of the new times.

Passengers on flights previously canceled due to the hurricane will be accommodated on Friday’s flights. Domestic flights between the Sister Islands on Thursday remain canceled. Service will resume on Friday, but flight times will be adjusted. Affected customers will be contacted directly.
Passengers are reminded and encouraged to ensure accurate contact details are updated in their flight bookings and to book their flights online www.caymanairways.com or contact a travel specialist of their choice to help alleviate the high call volumes to the Cayman Airways reservations call centre at this time.
