Libreville, Thursday, July 4, 2024 (Infos Gabon) – The National Office of the Platform of Cooperatives for Agricultural Operators, Fisheries, Livestock and Sustainable Development (CEAPEDD) has been organizing training sessions for cooperative managers in Libreville since July 3, 2024, in order to provide them with business plans, financial management, legal status options, etc.
For those in charge of CEAPEDD, these moments are intended not only to encourage emulation but, above all, to strengthen relations between cooperatives in accordance with the theme chosen for the 8th International Day of Cooperatives (JIC), which places special emphasis on cooperation between them and their financing.
“As a natural tool for partnership and prosperity for all, cooperatives promote economic, social and environmental sustainability in all regions and economic sectors. On July 6, 2024, the global cooperative movement, and in particular the National Cooperative Movement, will demonstrate how cooperative ways of working inspired by cooperative values and principles can contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals,” said Ms. Garcia Medza Memba, President of the CEAPDD National Office.
Led by trainers from the International Labour Office (ILO), the course started on July 3 and will continue until tomorrow, with experience-sharing workshops, exhibitions of local products, demonstrations, etc. The event also includes the organization of a competition, in particular for the best traditional Gabonese dishes (Odika, Nkumu, Nyembwé, Folon) in the appetizer and dessert categories of the menu, as well as a competition for the best agricultural project.
The 8th International Day of Cooperatives in 2024 is under the patronage of First Lady Zita Oligui Nguema. This time, more than 500 cooperatives are expected in Libreville on July 6.
