Public Service Minister John Tuhaika Jr recently attended the prestigious United Nations Public Service Forum in Incheon, South Korea.
The Minister took part in a high-profile ministerial discussion on a range of key issues affecting global governance and public services.
The theme of the plenary session was “Artificial Intelligence and the Future of Government”, which delved into the role of AI in transforming public service delivery and governance.
As the world grapples with complex and interconnected challenges, the conference highlighted the need to harness cutting-edge technologies to make governments more efficient and responsive.
Particular attention was paid to the role of young civil servants in driving innovation and ensuring the public sector is future-proof. The Minister stressed the importance of engaging young people in public service, recognizing their potential to bring new perspectives and innovative solutions to long-standing challenges.
The participation of His Excellency Tuhaika (Jr) in the Forum reaffirms GNUT’s commitment to global cooperation, sustainable development and integration of advanced technologies into public services. The Forum serves as a platform to exchange ideas, build new partnerships and strengthen the collective resolve to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals.

Throughout the forum, Minister Tuhaika engaged with his counterparts from various countries, sharing insights and experiences on how to effectively implement public service innovation to promote the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.
The Minister also attended bilateral meetings with the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs and the Government of South Korea, aimed at strengthening international cooperation and promoting collaborative efforts in public services.
