Budget Day 2025 – “Investing in strategic infrastructure, strengthening the economy and improving the well-being of citizens” « Government of Timor-Leste

The budget meeting to prepare the 2025 General State Budget (OGE) will be held on July 5, 2024 at the Kay Rala Xanana Gusmão Auditorium at the Ministry of Finance in Dili.

The theme of Budget Day 2025 is “Investing in Strategic Infrastructure, Strengthening the Economy, Improving Citizen Well-being” and aims to set the government’s priorities and fiscal ceiling for 2025.

The event will start at 8:30 am with an opening speech by Prime Minister Xanana Gusmao. The second session will analyze macroeconomic issues, budget strategies and the performance of the financial sector. In the morning, proposals will be presented on priorities, mandatory expenditures and programs for the fiscal ceiling to 2025. In the afternoon, participants will discuss the topics presented and determine the priorities and fiscal ceiling for the OGE to 2025.

Based on the identified priorities, ministries will prepare departmental budget proposals for analysis by the Budget Review Committee between August 12 and 27, 2024.
