William Contreras’ stellar season is paying off in style as Major League Baseball announced on Wednesday that the Calabrian man will be the starting catcher for the National League All-Star Game.
This will be the second mid-season classic for the youngest of the Contreras brothers.
The first time was in 2022, when he was playing for the Atlanta Braves, when he started as a designated hitter.
Contreras joins Jose Altuve, a Venezuelan national, as the starters for this All-Star Game in Arlington, Texas.
