Water gushed from a fire hydrant in Tumon Friday afternoon as Guam Waterworks crews used the hydrant to drain a mainline. Christopher Budasi, deputy general manager of administration and support for the Guam Waterworks, said the hydrant was used to drain a mainline in Tumon that needed repairs. “Once the line was repaired, the crews also used the hydrant to flush the repaired line,” he said. He added that hydrant flushing is used to clean the repaired line and remove sediment that was introduced during the repair process.
