From June 25 to 27, the U.S. Coast Guard Micronesia/Guam, in partnership with the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, the Commonwealth Ports Authority, and Isla Petroleum & Energy, successfully completed its first-ever full-scale exercise, Lina’la Halom Tasi 2024, on Saipan. The exercise simulated an oil spill and was designed to improve response capabilities and coordination among various regional agencies and organizations. The exercise included personnel training at the Emergency Operations Center on June 25, equipment exercises at Tanapag Harbor on June 26, and a comprehensive after-action assessment on June 27. The exercise involved multiple agencies and organizations, including the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, the U.S. Coast Guard, and the Department of Fire and Emergency Medical Services.
