The government, through the Secretariat of State for Professional Training and Employment (SEFOPE), in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), organized the Career and Education Fair on June 28-29, 2024. The event was held under the Youth Employment and Entrepreneurship Skills (YEES) project, co-funded by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA), the Ministry of Trade and Industry, and UNDP. 
The main goal of the Career and Education Fair is to provide individuals, job seekers, students and recent graduates with comprehensive information about career development opportunities, education, job training, career seminars and scholarship opportunities.
During the two-day event, participants were able to explore exhibitions from employers, public institutions, youth centres, training centres and universities, thus facilitating the sharing of important information on career development. 
Guests attending the opening ceremony included Secretary of State for Vocational Training and Employment, Rogério Araújo Mendonça; Secretary of State for Local Development, Mateus dos Santos Talo; Deputy Prime Minister’s representative and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Timor-Leste Tourism Board, Virgílio Smith; President of the Ermera Municipality, José Martinho Santos Soares; Adeline Carrier, Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme in Timor-Leste, and KIM Jieun, KOICA Timor-Leste Project Manager, among other guests.
