The additional funds will support the completion of ongoing health facility construction, implementation of the National Health Insurance Scheme, and interoperability of the electronic civil registration and vital statistics system with other sector information systems.
“The third additional financing will expand and improve the quality of essential health services in The Gambia. It underscores our commitment to continuously improve access to and quality of healthcare services for all,” explain Franklin Mutahakana, Resident Representative of the World Bank Group.
“This additional funding is vital for the government.” explain Task force leader Teegwende Valerie Porgo. “The renovation and equipping of the Buwiam General Hospital and Brikamaba Health Centre will strengthen services in rural areas.”
