Today, the Ministry of Labor, in cooperation with the Qatar Institute of Certified Public Accountants, held a training course on the “Internal Audit Standards” program, which aims to develop the capabilities and skills of the country’s workforce in the field of financial accounting, improve their personal and functional capabilities, empower them with modern internal audit methods, and qualify them to keep up with changes and developments in the accounting field of the labor market.
This training course is carried out within the framework of the Ministry of Labor’s efforts to prepare and qualify citizens and empower them to perform a variety of jobs and professions, in line with the Third National Development Strategy, with the aim of creating a national workforce that is trained and qualified for a variety of jobs and able to compete in all economic sectors of the labor market, in addition to increasing the participation rate of private sector companies and institutions.
The course includes introducing the overall framework of the internal control system, evaluation methods and means, as well as audit methods, evidence of evidence and operational internal control design rules to train participants, and training participants on internal control mechanisms and internal control. Financial audit skills, internal control of cash operations, financial audit, procurement and inventory, internal control of expenses and income, internal audit methods according to audit tasks, how to construct reports and the elements of forming their opinions, and evaluating the governance process of the institution.
Notably, the Third National Development Strategy, the final phase of Qatar’s National Vision 2030, aims to achieve a fundamental shift towards a more productive labour market, building a talent and capability base through better education and stronger motivation to work in the private sector, which employs more than 20% of the country’s workforce.
