In a speech at the 78th Police Day ceremony at the National Monument in Jakarta on Monday, Jokowi asked the police to help ensure that the simultaneous elections to be held on November 27, 2024, are conducted safely and fairly.
“We are about to have regional elections. So I would like to ask the police department to provide support, remain neutral, maintain stability, and maintain democracy so that the regional elections can proceed smoothly,” he said.
He also extended his best wishes to the police nationwide and praised all police personnel for their dedication and hard work in maintaining social stability and security.
The President then highlighted Polri’s contribution to Indonesia’s successful holding of the 2024 general election and various major development agendas amid global uncertainty.

The head of state, dressed in a blue navy suit, also watched parachuting and drumming performances by personnel of the Pori Force.
Vice President Ma’ruf Amin and his wife Wury, House Speaker Puan Maharani, Regional Representative Council Speaker La Nyalla Mattalitti, Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto, Indonesia’s 10th Vice President Jusuf Kalla and National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo also attended the ceremony.
The National Police Force’s anniversary celebrations focused on the theme “Precision Policing Supports Accelerated Inclusive and Sustainable Economic Transformation Towards a Golden Indonesia,” and also featured musical performances and a free food bazaar.
