Libreville, Sunday, June 30, 2024 (Gabon News) – Ms. Camélia Ntoutoume Leclercq presented on Saturday to the Head of State a report on the organization and progress of the Bachelor’s Degree Program for 2024. The success rates shown are 80% for general teaching and 82% for technical and vocational education.

At the end of the second round of general, technical and vocational education baccalaureate exams, the Minister of National Education provided the Transitional President with an update on the organization and progress of the exams, which mark the end of secondary school studies and give the chance for entry to higher levels.

The results of the first and second rounds announced on June 22 and June 28, as well as national-level statistics, showed that the pass rate for general education was 80% and the pass rate for technical and vocational education was 82%.

The two also discussed issues related to other national examinations, in particular the holding of a coaching committee for sixth graders at the end of primary school, for which the President of the Republic has instructed that they be reviewed as soon as possible.

The conditions for welcoming learners are not what is left from this face-to-face meeting between the Head of State and members of the Government. General Brice Clotel Origi Nguema said the latter must do everything possible to fill the gaps in the reception structure for new high school students in several regions of the country.

Therefore, parents, teachers, students, associations and NGOs must work together and work together to achieve good results and take the country to the top.

Necessary tools and other cannons should be deployed during the academic year to achieve good results at the end of the academic year, cycle or study. This will reduce the negative impact of mediocre results in the first round of baccalaureate exams that are compensated in the second round.

Improved results

I was chilled by the first round of BA results that were released on June 22. Not only did they take so long to publish, but the content itself was also less than satisfactory.

The Minister of National Education said when announcing the results that a total of 24,784 candidates registered for the general bachelor’s degree, of which 344 were absent and 24,440 candidates passed the examination. The results: 8,521 candidates were admitted, with a pass rate of 34.87%; 11,059 candidates passed, with a pass rate of 45.25%.

Technical and Professional Bachelor’s Degree: 3444 candidates registered, 83 were absent, and 3361 passed the exam. Result: 1508 were admitted, with a success rate of 44.87%. In addition, there were 1286 qualified candidates, accounting for 38.26%.

Presumably, the results of the 2024 baccalaureate exams, both for the general baccalaureate exams and the technical and professional baccalaureate exams, leave a trace of consistency that educators and students have made efforts. Therefore, the expected second round of results confirms this observation.

However, the winner of the 2024 Bachelor’s Degree Program is Katanga Kabeya, an 18-year-old junior high school student who studies at the C-series private high school “Mbélé/Angongé”. Under the number 10425 of the Sainte-Marie examination center in Libreville, he obtained an average score of 17.04/20 mentioned as very good. Well done!
