A 50-year-old man was killed when his vehicle was involved in an accident at Wangdue Phobrang police station.
The incident took place on June 7 in Phangyul Gewog.
The 37-year-old man was charged under Section 199, Section 66(1 and 2(b)) of the Roads and Traffic Authority Act.
If convicted, the offender will be sentenced to 6 months imprisonment or 50% fine, or both, depending on the court, according to Sec.
On June 25, the case was sent to the Wangdue Phobrang Court.
Wangdue Phobrang police detained the suspect and fined him. The victim was a logistics worker at Wangdue Dzongkhag.
The accident took place at an irrigation project in Phangyul, the vehicle in question did not have a driver’s licence and the incident occurred after the series was concluded.
According to sources, after the ceremony, Lapo loaded the tent poles into the delivery vehicle, and the rear pole of the vehicle hit the gate and then hit the victim.
The victim collapsed and was taken to hospital but died.
