The national government is serving six popular macro-divisions in the state of Lara (Barquisimeto) with a program to replace sewer pipes that have reached the end of their useful life.

The modernization of wastewater infrastructure will be carried out in the neighborhoods of La Carucieña, El Garabatal, San Francisco and Santa Isabel, in the parish of Guerrera Ana Soto (Anasoli), and in Barrio Union, in the parish of the same name, both of which correspond to the municipality of Iribarén (Barquisimeto).

The plan is to replace 2,000 meters of 8-inch and 10-inch pipes in the urban development that was built more than 40 years ago.

It is worth noting that the inspection of these sectors was already carried out by a delegation led by the Minister of Water, G/D Rodolfo Marcos Torres, and local authorities, following direct instructions from the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, who visited the entity on June 26.

Torres, along with Lara Hydrology President Joel Tifor, assessed the collapse of a large portion of the main that collects and distributes wastewater from these popular departments.

According to the local government, the implementation of the collection plan will affect the daily lives of about 30,000 people.

Most of Barquisimetana’s population is distributed between the parishes of Unión and Ana Soto, which also has a vibrant industrial, commercial and institutional activity.

Velásquez, at the end of his visit to the Larence entity, began the asphalt program in the community of 5 de Julio, in the parish of Guerrera Anasoto, and said that the amount of asphalt agreed upon is 11,000 tons, “With this, we are fulfilling our commitment to our President Nicolás Maduro,” the minister added.
