Saudi Customs has launched the initiative to postpone the payment of customs duties payable on goods imported into the Kingdom, without requiring any guarantee from low-risk importers, within the framework of a package of measures proposed by the wise leadership to mitigate the financial and economic impact on the Kingdom. Customs explained that this initiative does not require any guarantee from low-risk importers, which follows the initiative announced at the end of March last year to require bank guarantees, as the guarantee is valid until the scheduled payment date at the end of the deferral period, which is thirty days from the date of customs clearance.

In this regard, she stated that in order to obtain an extension without the need for any guarantee, this requires the importer to approve the “electronic declaration” and enable Saudi Customs to view the financial statements of the facility through the “manifestation” procedure, the purpose of which is to understand the financial solvency of the institution in order to qualify for the initiative without the need for a guarantee. Customs also explained that the financial obligations (tariff differences and penalties) that the institution does not have to pay. ).
