When asked about the current status of the labor abuses reported by Peruvian construction workers, Masol noted that “through the official inspections carried out and contacts with the embassy and consulate in Peru, we have been able to control the situation”. Most importantly, he noted that “with the entrepreneurs involved”, he met with them personally and obtained from them a promise, “which I think they have fulfilled”, that they would not bring more people. Therefore, “it seems that the situation is calm now”, he said. He believes that this is important for two reasons: you can not harm people who work sincerely, nor can you allow a bad image of the country.
Innovation District
The owners of the company also detailed that they want to create an innovation area”. The issue has already been discussed and work has begun between the Ministry, the Andorran Ministry of Business and the Andorran Recerca + Innovación (AR+I). “Andorra must bet on the Science and Technology Park and a good place is around this university”, he said. The number of registrations for this year’s Entrepreneurs’ Seminar hit a new high, with 14 business plans submitted
This year’s Entrepreneurs’ Seminar had 14 participants, 12 women and two men. Yesterday afternoon, the Minister and Rector of the University of Andorra, Juli Minoves, awarded the prizes for the best business plans. This edition was marked by a record demand, with 47 requests for participation. Masol stressed that 14 of the 20 projects selected at the beginning of the year were successful business plans. In addition, he pointed out that this year’s seminar could be called a “women’s entrepreneurship seminar” because the vast majority of participants were entrepreneurs.
In addition to the diplomas, several prizes were awarded. Clàudia Navarro won the first prize of 4,000 euros for her personalized jewelry project. The second prize of 2,000 euros was shared by Carla Sofia Esteves and Elvira Lastovkina, the former for personalized care and treatment consultations and the latter for the fashion styling and personal image services project. Meritxell Segovia won the third prize of 1,000 euros for its business proposal for a conceptual art studio for audiovisual production. In addition, Daniel Ortega’s proposal to develop an online digital assets market platform received a prize of 2,000 euros for the “most innovative project”.
