Logistics and student accommodation joint venture between Xori and Idec Groupe is born

The first phase of investment will see nearly 60,000 square meters invested in the Veneto region. But the goal is to develop a potential business worth 100 million investments within three years. The collaboration will first begin in the industrial/logistics and student housing sectors, where the French group Idec Groupe, one of the main operators in the real estate sector in France and abroad, will join Xori Group, an Italian company based in Turin that specializes in engineering and construction. The new joint venture – 90% for Idec Groupe and 10% for Xori – will be called Idec Groupe Italia, and its goal is precisely to develop industrial and logistics assets specifically related to students, as well as residential accommodation.

Founded in France nearly 25 years ago, the Idec Group is one of the main players in the real estate sector, with more than 600 employees in France and 1,000 abroad, 700,000 square meters of completions per year and a global turnover of US$500 million. Xori Group is a company with more than 200 employees and 7 different companies.

Patrice Lafargue, founder and president of Idec Groupe, explains: “With Idec Group Italia, we want to create a reference company that supports industrial, commercial and logistics companies in the realization of their real estate projects, integrating all the means of innovation and sustainable development. We intend to combine our expertise with the complementarity of our activities.
“With our knowledge of the sector, we will identify opportunities and plan business plans for logistics, tertiary and industrial projects”, explains Luca Rollino, president of the Xori Group. Currently, we are working on a first development of about 60,000 square meters in Veneto (we consider projects of at least 50,000 square meters), but we have three other projects under evaluation. However, developments will only be carried out if the potential interest of certain possible tenants in the asset is verified. The reference areas for the logistics sector and student housing are central and northern Italy, concludes Rollino.
