Tegucigalpa– Former employees of Leonardo Martinez Hospital have once again gathered outside the medical center to protest recent mass layoffs.
According to the protesters, their only “crime” was not being included in the Liberal census, which they deeply regretted.
“We are here to sit in because they fired us without any reason. We didn’t even receive a written notice, we just got a phone call informing us that we can’t come back,” explained one of those affected.
Former employees expressed dissatisfaction with the unpaid wages. “We have lodged several protests because they have not even paid us what they owe us. “We have families to feed, rent to pay and other bills,” they added.
One protester, visibly frustrated, said: “He’s handing over a red and black broom in the hospital just because he’s not a liberal. We told the president to remember she’s a woman and most of the people being fired here are women, single mothers, and they’re firing us for no reason.
They noted that the protests will continue as long as those affected do not receive solutions and payment of pending wages. pound
