There have been changes in the Belarusian ministries of industry, agriculture, food and foreign affairs. The new foreign minister is Maksim Ryzhankou, who has long served in various positions in the presidential administration. Lukashenko described him as a “tough and demanding person.”
The Ministry of Industry, in turn, will be headed by Alexander Yefimov. Previously, he had been serving as deputy minister. The Ministry of Agriculture and Food will now be headed by Anatoly Linevich.
Lukashenko is making changes to the government. New ministers are sanctioned
The current Belarusian ambassador to Russia, Dmitry Krutoy, becomes the new head of the Belarusian dictator’s government. His deputy will be Natalia Pietkiewicz, who for many years has worked in Lukashenko’s close circle.
“A new generation. This is what I am talking about: a change of generations. Young, promising and professionals should come to power. There will be no amateurs at the negotiating table,” Alexander Lukashenko said after the nomination was announced, according to BelTA.
As the independent Radio Liberty Radio emphasizes, all of Lukashenko’s nominees will be subject to international sanctions. In turn, many countries do not recognize him as a legitimate head of state.
