Several pigs died in a fire in a pigsty in Landhorst on Thursday. The fire brigade did not yet know how many pigs survived the fire. The fire broke out in the early afternoon and was fully extinguished around 3:30.
The fire started in a stable at a farm in Boekelsebaan. A lot of smoke could be seen in the area. “Fortunately, the fire did not spread to two other, larger pig stables,” said a spokesman for the Brabant-Noord safety region.
Asbestos was released during the fire, but only in the yard where the stables were located. According to the fire department, people in the area were not bothered by the released asbestos.
