“The eyes of the world are on Gaza, and rightly so. But we cannot ignore the situation in the West Bank,” U.S. envoy to the United Nations Linda Thomas-Greenfield said Tuesday at a Security Council meeting on the situation in the Middle East, including the Palestinian issue.

Britain’s UN envoy Barbara Woodward urged Israel to “immediately allow humanitarian aid into Gaza through all crossings and ensure that aid convoys and other humanitarian efforts are not conflicted.”

Woodward said her government was “also deeply concerned” about Israel’s suspension of revenue transfers to the Palestinian Authority and the “risks to correspondent banking relationships.”

He also called for sanctions against Israel for not complying with Security Council resolutions.
He reportedly condemned the provocative attack on holy sites and reiterated that the entire Al-Aqsa Mosque complex is a place of worship exclusively for Muslims.

Funeral attacked
Israeli occupation forces detained a Palestinian youth and attacked the funeral of a resident of Hebron (Al Khalil) in the southern occupied West Bank on Wednesday, the official Palestinian news agency WAFA reported.

Israeli troops raided a Muslim cemetery in the Ras neighborhood and attacked mourners with concussion bombs and rubber bullets. No casualties were reported.
They also detained a young man and beat him severely. WAFA said he was then taken to an unknown location.
More arrests
Israeli occupation forces detained at least 20 Palestinians during military raids in the occupied West Bank over the past 24 hours, WAFA reported, citing the Palestinian Prisoners Society (PPS) and the Committee for Detainee and Former Detainee Affairs.
Most of the arrests took place in the provinces of Hebron and Jenin, while the remaining detentions took place in Bethlehem and Qalqiliya, the two groups said in a joint statement.
The total number of Palestinians detained in the occupied West Bank has risen to more than 9,400 since October 7, according to reports.
Houses demolished
Israeli troops on Wednesday demolished 17 Palestinian homes in the occupied West Bank, including Jerusalem, and one house in the Palestinian territory occupied since 1948, WAFA reported.
In the city of Jericho, the occupiers demolished four homes on the eastern side of the city on the grounds that they had not obtained building permits issued by Israel.

Another house was demolished in the village of Bitelo, west of Ramallah, as was the home of Abu Subeih’s family in the Wadi Kadum neighborhood in the East Jerusalem town of Silwan.
The occupying forces, accompanied by bulldozers, captured Hebron and demolished 11 houses and other structures in the Umm Al-Khair neighbourhood of Marsafir Yata in the south of the city.
In the city of Kafr Qala, in the territories occupied in 1948, Israeli bulldozers demolished a house under construction under the same pretext.
