The Visiting Consultation Team Program is considered one of the curative services programs that aims to improve and develop health services in peripheral hospitals in provinces far from specialized medical institutions, in order to alleviate the suffering of patients and visitors in these provinces due to being transferred to medical institutions and specialized institutions. One of its goals is to develop methods of working in peripheral hospitals and to provide doctors and staff there with more experience in handling such cases. The work of the program is based on general surgery. Laparoscopic surgery, ear, nose and throat surgery, urology, heart and kidney specialties, women and obstetrics, while providing support to the team in other specialties when patients need it. The team leader is keen to develop his own specialties to include more surgeries such as pediatric surgery, umbilical hernia surgery, inguinal hernia surgery, especially those that require surgical drapes, as well as some thyroid surgeries, and complete the assessment process of specialized clinics such as dermatology, ophthalmology, urology, etc. Last Saturday, the consultation team visited the Zalm General Hospital and provided some surgical services to more than 400 beneficiaries.
