The Minister of Legal Affairs and Human Rights, A. Ahmed Alman, on Monday urged all international organizations in Sana’a to evacuate quickly to protect the safety of their staff and safeguard relief and humanitarian activities, stressing that “Sana’a is not safe and their protection cannot be guaranteed.”
In a statement to the China News Service, Oman accused the Houthi militia of continuing its kidnapping campaign against aid workers from international, UN and local organizations in Sanaa, which began earlier this month.
He confirmed that dozens of people had been abducted, including employees of UN agencies and international and local organizations, including five women.
He called on the United Nations and all its organizations operating in Yemen to overcome their passive stance and immediately begin closing their headquarters in Sana’a until all staff arrested by the terrorist Houthi militias are released.
He noted that the Yemeni government formally rejected an invitation from the United Nations and its special envoy to Yemen, Hans Grundberg, to participate in negotiations on the issue of prisoners and detainees in the Omani capital of Muscat at the end of this month, Economic Files.
He believes that the top priority is to stop the kidnapping activities of the Iran-backed Houthi militia, protect rescue, humanitarian and human rights workers, and immediately and unconditionally release the kidnapped persons.
