Building on his masterful direction, already acclaimed at the Festival dei Due Mondi, Liddy orchestrates an emotional vortex that allows boredom and apathy to dissolve into a storm of inner torment. Massimiliano Speziani, as Uncle Vanja, embodies the image of a man torn by impossible love and unbearable frustration. His monk-like body and husky voice give life to a character full of rage and despair, imprisoned in a cage of regret and unfulfilled desires.

Julianna Vigogna plays Sonia, a female image full of tenderness and melancholy. Her weak voice and transparent figure depict a pure soul that, despite being drowned in a sea of ​​loneliness and uneasiness, longs for unattainable love.

Mario Pirrello plays Astrov, a disillusioned, cynical, sarcastic man who has given up on his dreams and numbs his pain with alcohol, and his performance paints a character tormented by a sense of his own existential emptiness.
