Delayed implementation of criminal law
Following strong protests from numerous civil society groups, Prime Minister Corneille has decided to postpone the entry into force of the decree of 1 March 2020 amending the Criminal Code and the Code of Criminal Procedure, originally scheduled for 24 June 2024. In a special edition of the official gazette Le Moniteur published on Monday 24 June 2024, the entry into force of the decree was postponed to 19 June 2025.

Foreign Affairs: 33 women promoted to ministers
After evaluating the diplomatic personnel’s record and performance, and with the approval of Prime Minister Gary Cornille, Haitian Prime Minister Dominique Dupuy initiated a recall process in several diplomatic missions and promoted 33 women to the position of Head of Diplomatic Missions, so that from now on, 50% of Haitian diplomatic missions will be led by women…a first for Haiti and coinciding with the International Day of Women in Diplomacy.

Kenya: Prime Minister thanks
“On behalf of the Haitian Government and on my own behalf, I would like to pay tribute to the determination of the Government and its people of Kenya to support Haiti in its fight against the insecurity that is corroding society. Distributing thousands of cubic meters of daily necessities
The United Nations Central Emergency Response Fund (CERF) has successfully transported and distributed thousands of cubic meters of essential items, including jerry cans, blankets and solar lanterns, which will help alleviate the suffering of people affected by the violence in Haiti.

Refuse dialogue, refuse amnesty for gangs
Me André Michel, spokesman for the radical opposition Democratic and Popular Zone (SDP), “called on the political authorities to reject any dialogue with gang leaders”. He also asked them not to grant amnesty to gangs who “kidnap, rape, murder and plunge thousands of families into poverty”.
