Redevelopment work is underway on Triq ta Wara s-Sur in Victoria, which now joins Triq l-Imghalem via a much-needed new intersection.

During a visit to the site, Gozo Planning Minister Clint Camilleri said that work was progressing well and that with the first part (the residential component) completed, the focus was now on the second and final phase of the project.

“Once completed, this project will significantly ease traffic congestion in central Victoria and once and for all eliminate bottlenecks that have inconvenienced drivers in the past,” he said.

“It will also make daily travel easier for residents of Zeebug and Gusli,” Minister Camilleri said.

He added it was one of a number of important decisions being taken to address Victoria’s transport problems.

Renovation work has also begun on Triq Gorg Pisani, which will reduce traffic between Marsaforn and Victoria Centre,” the minister said.
