Pasifiki HR, in conjunction with Strongim Bisnis Australia, are proud to announce the launch of a new internship program designed to equip fresh graduates with the necessary work-ready knowledge and skills.

The internship program offers three-month funded internships designed to provide enthusiastic recent graduates with valuable work experience.

The announcement was made at the Business After Five (BA5) event hosted by Pasifiki HR for members of the Solomon Islands Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Friday.

Bob Pollard, speaking at the event, highlighted the significant challenges facing graduates in the Solomon Islands, where gaining employment is a privilege due to the scarcity of job opportunities.

“There is a huge gap between the number of graduates and the number of full-time jobs available.”

“There are about 15,000 graduates every year at all levels of education, but only a small fraction of them find full-time employment,” Pollard said.

Pollard encouraged businesses and organizations to support internship programs, stressing the importance of providing interns with real-world work experience.

There are a total of 80 internship places available in the first round, and the deployment of interns will begin in July.

Unemployed graduates or those who need work experience are strongly encouraged to apply. Target groups include recent university graduates, TVET graduates, women’s groups, persons with disabilities and qualified candidates from the labour mobility pool.

Interested parties should submit an application including a curriculum vitae (CV), expression of interest (EOI) letter, and highest qualification certificate to Pasifiki HR, PO Box R241, Honiara, Solomon Islands.

Email applications can be sent to Senoveva Kera: consultant@pasifikihr.com.

At the same time, the program also provides important opportunities for recent graduates to gain practical experience and improve their employability in a competitive job market.

Pasifiki HR and Australia Strongim Bisnis are committed to supporting the career development of young talent in the Solomon Islands.
