During its five-day visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt, the delegation of the University of Sharjah held several meetings, visits and encounters with officials, academics and university leaders in the capital of Cairo to discuss opportunities for joint cooperation and exchange of academic experiences and students, organization of events and conferences, and scientific supervision of papers and research.
During the visit to Egypt, the university delegation discussed the possibility of establishing a branch of the University of Sharjah in the Arab Republic of Egypt, as well as ways to conduct joint scientific, academic and research cooperation with officials, academic and university leaders in Cairo.
The delegation, led by Prof. Dr. Hamid Majoul Al-Nuaimi, Rector of the University, and including Prof. Dr. Issam Al-Din Ajami, Vice-President for Institutional Effectiveness and Academic Accreditation, and Dr. Salah Taher Al-Hajj, Vice-President for Community Affairs, held a number of meetings, visits and conferences with the aim of exchanging academic experiences and organizing scientific supervision of papers and research.
The delegation met with Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research of Egypt, in the presence of Maryam Khalifa Al Kaabi, UAE Ambassador to Cairo, Sheikh Fahim bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Permanent Representative of the League of Arab States to the United Arab Emirates, and Dr. Sheikh Ammar bin Nasser Al Mualla, Minister of Government Relations of Sharjah and UAE Attaché to Cairo for Education, Science and Technology.
The delegation visited Cairo University and met with Professor Mohammed Osman Hasht, President of Cairo University, and discussed issues such as strengthening cooperation in research and academic fields, exchanges between teachers and students, and guidance of academic papers. Cooperation opportunities between Sharjah Academy of Space and Astronomy Sciences and Technology and the Academy of Science and Technology of Cairo International University.
The University of Sharjah delegation also visited the Egyptian Fatwa House in Cairo and discussed with the Mufti of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Professor Dr. Shawqi Allam, ways to strengthen cooperation and exchange experiences in the fields of education and academia, as well as to collaborate in holding joint seminars and conferences.
During the delegation’s visit to Ain Shams University, the two sides signed a joint cooperation agreement and discussed strengthening cooperation in the field of scientific research, exchanging academic and cultural experiences, developing graduate programs, joint scientific research, and opportunities for mutual exchange of students. The two sides met with Dr. Reem Bahjat, president of Misr Information University in the New Administrative Capital, and discussed strengthening scientific and academic cooperation, exchanging experiences and supporting the development of scientific research in the fields of information and communication technologies, data science, business technology, digital art and design.
The delegation of the University of Sharjah visited Sadat Administrative Science Academy and met with the Dean of the Academy, Professor Mohamed Hassan Abdel Azim, and the two sides discussed issues such as faculty exchange, student exchange and training, and the development of the academy. He exchanged experiences in consulting, training, professional development, teaching methods, and the academy. He met with the Dean of the Academy, Major General Dr. Ayman Mohammed Shawqi, at the Egyptian Armed Forces Medical Academy, and met with the Secretary General, Professor Dr. Nazir Ayyad, at the Al-Azhar Sharif Academy of Islamic Studies, and listened to the explanation of the scientific, research and advocacy work carried out by the academy as one of the Al-Azhar Sharif institutions, especially the Al-Azhar International Center for Forensic Astronomy and Space Sciences.
