Merdeka.com – South Sulawesi Governor Andy Sudirman Sulaiman encouraged the community to actively participate in the tree planting campaign.

This was stated by Governor Andi Sudirman Sulaiman during a tree planting activity around Embung Pallae in Ponglei District, Boen Regency on Tuesday (April 7).

The planting was carried out by the Senrana Forest Management Unit (KPH) of the South Sulawesi Provincial Environment and Forestry Department together with the community.

“Thank God, today we have planted prolific trees together with KPH Cenrana and the community. Let us green the environment and save the earth,” he said.

As many as 500 productive trees were planted, including three types: durian, rambutan and avocado.

“We hope that by planting these trees we can mitigate global warming, improve rainfall cycles, groundwater and clean air,” he explained.

He also hopes the community will support the maintenance of the trees that have been planted. “Let’s encourage greenery for our future generations,” he added.
