Tazabek – Kyrgyzstan’s gold exports increased almost three times in the first quarter of 2024. These conclusions can be drawn based on the data of the State Statistics Committee.
From January to March, 2.1 tons of gold were exported, worth $140 million, three times the 0.8 tons worth $50 million exported in the same period of 2023.
In the first quarter of this year, gold accounted for a third of the country’s total exports.
Kyrgyzstan sells gold to the following countries:
- Hong Kong (China) 1.1 tons, valued at more than US$75.3 million;
- Switzerland: 0.9 tons, valued at $63.5 million;
- United Arab Emirates: 12.5 kg, valued at $811,000.
