Eyes now turn to the High Constitutional Court (HCC), whose ruling is eagerly awaited, after the HCC released the provisional results of the legislative elections. The list of the 163 new members of the National Assembly of Madagascar will be officially announced this week. They will take office from July 1.
According to the Legislative Election Law, the HCC will officially announce the final results within sixteen (16) days from the date that CENI announced the provisional results. CENI announced the provisional results on June 11, three days later than the initial timeline, and the HCC was supposed to announce the official results of the legislative elections on June 27. In March, the authorities planned to officially announce the results by June 26, but given the current political context and delays at the CENI level, this deadline is likely to be postponed until after the National Day holiday.
HCC receives hundreds of legislative-related requests during campaign events, voting day, and when processing results from polling stations and the Material Voting Census Unit (SRMV).
