Benin to be rewarded for organizational success – The New Tribune

Benin will receive Awarded the Excellence Award in Marseille, France on June 29 Successfully organized 50^th edition of the World Petanque Championship. The decision was communicated to the African Petanque Confederation (Casb) by the International Petanque and Youth Football Federation of Provence (FIPJP). This information was also released by CASB during its mission to Paris as part of a working meeting with the President Claude Azema.

“During this meeting, CASB was informed that the merits of the Republic of Benin, through the Federation of French Petanque of Benin (FBP), were recognized for the successful organization of the 50th World Championship in Cotonou in September 2023, thanks to the personal involvement of the Head of State of Benin, His Excellency Mr. Patrice Talon, and his Government”informed Mr. Ibrahima Idrissou through Information Note No. 005/06/CASB dated June 21, 2024.

Nevertheless, the president of the African Bowling Confederation (Casb) clarified that Benin must designate those who should have this honorary title in its name. “Accordingly, the Benin Petanque Federation (FBP) is invited to accept the Excellence Award on behalf of Benin on June 29, 2024 in Marseille, France. The FBP will appoint one or more Executive Committee members who are not sanctioned by CASB or FIPJP to accept the award on behalf of Benin. (…) CASB wishes to clarify that the Excellence Award is not awarded to individuals, but to countries through their national federations”Add to Alhaji Ibrahima Idrisu.

Note that, in addition to information related to Benin’s international reputation in the field of petanque, the African manager of the project made some comments after presenting him with the report on the mission of the French Football Federation in Paris. These included, among others, the intention to break the trend of qualifying for African championships, making it possible to designate African representatives for the World Championships; the sacrifices and self-sacrifice made by CASB to raise the profile of FIPJP; the unanimous reaffirmation by the delegates present at the meeting and by the representative of the President of CASB of the new mission of the Congress, which is to help CASB to develop a good basic text in line with the text of FIPJP.
