Tegucigalpa – A minor who was swept away by rain in Lempira City, Central Region, on Saturday night has been rescued.
Cristian Sevilla, a spokesman for the Fire Department, said neighbors reported that the youth, about 14, was washed into a ditch in the area by rain and they feared he had been dragged into the Choluteca River.
However, he was found in a ditch after midnight and was taken to the teaching hospital with multiple bruises.
Lieutenant Sevilla detailed that last night’s rains caused flooding in the Alameda neighborhood, the Morazán neighborhood in the Yucos area, along the Periferico ring road and Lapida Avenue, and he said they provided assistance to a family in the Villanueva neighborhood, where landslides damaged the walls of some houses.
“There was a tree that fell on the street in the Tres Caminos neighborhood,” he said. Venture Capital
