President Zhaparov says land has been provided to participants of the April Revolution for building factories

AKIPRESS website – President Sadyr Japarov said he approved providing land to participants of the April Revolution for building factories.
President Sadyr Japarov said that for two years citizens who lost loved ones in the April 2010 disaster have expressed their complaints and demands in meetings with him.
About 100 people told the president that they had reached an agreement with the fugitive former president Kurmanbek Bakiyev, who promised to build a clothing factory. They asked President Sadyav Zhaparov to provide land for the construction of the factory.
Taking into account the poor economic situation of the citizens who made the request, the President decided to provide more than one hectare of land for the project.
President Japarov said the events of April 2010 left 205 people dead. Their relatives had united to form a joint stock company. The president added that the land was allocated to the joint stock company, not to individuals.
“I cannot say whether the factory will be built. I don’t know how they reached the agreement and what they discussed. If the factory is not built, we will return the land to the state,” the president said.
In April 2010, at least 84 protesters were shot dead in riots in Bishkek, and President Kurmanbek Bakiyev fled the country.
