Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro said on Friday that Argentine President Javier Milley is “destroying” his country’s economy and state with a “failed neoliberal paradigm.”

«Milay is in Argentina, what is he doing? “Destroy the economy, destroy social rights, destroy the country, give lithium wealth to American billionaires, destroy Argentina with a failed neoliberal paradigm that has failed a thousand times,” Maduro said during an event in the island nation of Nueva Esparta (northeast).

On the other hand, the Venezuelan head of state continued, the Caribbean country “is breaking with the neoliberal paradigm” because it is “growing, beating inflation, and it is distributing wealth.”

Last May, Maduro claimed Miller was doing a “dirty job” to turn Argentina into a US colony.

Argentina’s president said last month he had nothing to discuss with Maduro because he considers him a “dictator” who is trying to turn the July 28 presidential election “his own” in which the Venezuelan head of state will seek a second term.

Relations between Argentina and Venezuela were close during the terms of Peronists Nestor Kirchner (2003-2007), Cristina Fernández (2007-2015) and Alberto Fernández (2019-2023), but deteriorated after the arrival of the president at the Casa Rosada. Ultra-liberal Javier Mire, December 10.
