President Ranil Wickremesinghe symbolically presented freehold title deeds to 192 individuals from 13 department secretariats in Batticaloa district.
According to the Presidential Media Department (PMD), the distribution is part of the “Urumaya” Freehold Title Deeds Program, which aims to provide freehold title deeds to 27,595 eligible households in the region.
The Urumaya National Plan will distribute 2 million freehold land deeds to people across the island, enhancing the property rights and security of countless families.
After the allotment ceremony, President Wickremesinghe met with LTTE Janshakti leader Sivanesathurai Chandrakanthan aka Pilayan and his party members at the LTTE Janshakti headquarters.
During the meeting, the TMVP leader expressed support for the President and confirmed his party’s support for the upcoming presidential election.
