CEH was not aware of CPT’s meeting with Catholic organizations
The Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Haiti (CEH) announced in a note dated June 20 that “none of the legally constituted institutions represented by its president has requested a meeting with the Presidential Transition Council (CPT)”. The CEH said it was surprised to learn that the CPT had held talks on Monday, June 17, with a Catholic Church organization regarding “a large project”. It is noteworthy that the CPT held talks with the Catholic Church’s Haitian Center for Planning and Development Studies (CHRAD), represented by Mario Paredes, an adviser to Pope Francis, accompanied by Jean Lucien Ligondé. They discussed a large national production project seeking a public-private partnership.
