The Chinese government said on Thursday that China will continue to support Sri Lanka in achieving debt sustainability.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian said in Beijing that China will continue to support Sri Lanka in achieving debt sustainability, just as we have always helped Sri Lanka’s socio-economic development.
The spokesperson made the above remarks at a regular press conference in Beijing when answering reporters’ questions about the recent China-Sri Lanka diplomatic consultations.
“Regarding the 13th round of diplomatic consultations between China and Sri Lanka, China has released information, which you can check. What I can tell you is that China has been providing assistance to Sri Lanka’s economic and social development to the best of its ability.”
“We stand ready to continue working with relevant countries and international financial institutions to support Sri Lanka’s debt sustainability,” he said.
