Sayyid Pir Mehr Ali Shah with Marahrah Shareef and Badayun Shareef in chains
The famous saint Allama Sayyid Pir Meir Ali Shah was a student of Allama Lutfullah Ali Garhi, who was a student of Mufti Inayat Ahmad Kakorvi, who was a student of Maulana Buzurq Ali, who was a student of Allama Salamatullah Siddiqui Kashfi Badayuni Kanpuri. The latter was a student of Shah Abdul Aziz Muhaddis Dihlavi, and a disciple and caliph of Sayyid Shah Al Ahmad Aqi Mian Malaharawi and Shah Abdul Majid Badayuni. See: Akmal al-Tarikh pp. 114-115 for Maulana Salamatullah. Malahara Sharif is the spiritual Qadiri centre where Imam Ahmed Raza Khan and his father embarked on different spiritual paths. The connection between Badauyun and Bareilly scholars is also well known.
