In northwestern Pakistan, a man was killed for allegedly insulting the Koran.

The incident took place in Madyan district of Swat district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, where hundreds of people stormed and destroyed the police station where the suspect was detained. The attackers snatched the man from the police and burned him alive. Eleven people injured in the clash were taken to hospital.
To restore order, authorities deployed special forces in Madyan.
