US-Taiwan letter fails to find recipient in the Southern Hemisphere

Second, the world is witnessing two opposing searches: China strives to democratize international relations through connectivity and cooperationTake the Belt and Road Initiative as an example, with $1 trillion of investment in projects in Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Europe in the past 10 years; On the contrary, the United States has been trying to militarize international relations and provoke confrontation and conflict since the September 11 terrorist attacks in 2001. In addition, the United States has wasted $6.5 trillion of American taxpayers’ money on wars in Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Libya and Somalia.

Third, the Global South, which encompasses much of the Asia-Pacific region, has no interest in returning to the Cold War era. There is no “buyer” for America’s confrontational or new Cold War approach.supplemented by hundreds of military bases around the world and new security groups and alliances such as AUKUS and QUAD.

The Taiwan Charter has long been invalid. It would be in the interest of American policymakers to recognize this as soon as possible.
