On March 25-26, 2024, Robin DeBruyne and Stacey Ireland (GLSC, Ann Arbor, MI) traveled to the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (OMNRF) field office in Wheatley, Ontario, to conduct a training workshop on early life history sampling and identification of fish. Nine OMNRF biologists and technicians reviewed all procedures in a classroom setting, watched a demonstration of juvenile collection procedures on the OMNRF boat, and practiced sample handling and juvenile identification in the laboratory. This training will help standardize field methods among agencies conducting juvenile assessments during the 2024 Lake Erie Cooperative Science and Monitoring Program for future analyses.
